Young Boi est un titre à la fois typique du style « techno romantique » exploré par l’artiste, et également très personnel puisqu’il évoque de manière plus ou moins cryptique la phase de transition de genre de Boris Viande, devenu.e personne non-binaire en 2021.

Young Boi is the first single out of Boris' new show "Dispo pour vos mariages" (available for weddings), a full LED - smoke - techno performance including poetry, bass and various traditional instruments such as trumpet, accordion, guitar.

After a few years focusing on learning new folk repertoires and touring as a DJ, Boris Viande is back with a bunch of new songs, mostly in French, depicting the lifestyle and thoughts of an artist who has spent fifteen years playing indie world music at private events, where partying has sometimes been more of an loophole in the context of a capitalistic and oppressive society.

Young Boi is an introduction to this new show, making people familiar with Boris' techno / 8bit / folkloric sound, along with simple lyrics about getting older and questioning one's gender.
